2014-2015   Queen of the Furrow

Crystal McLeod, hailing from Tara, Ontario, graduated from Nipissing University in 2013 with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing and from Fanshawe College in 2014 with a specialty certificate in Emergency Nursing. Currently she works as a Registered Nurse at both the Hanover District Hospital and Grey-Bruce Health Services Southampton Site.

When not out in the plowing field, Crystal enjoys traveling, experiencing new cultures, participating in continuing education, and helping others. She currently volunteers with St. John's Ambulance, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Arran-Tara Agricultural Society and the Tara Horticultural Society. In the past she has spent time with the Worldwide Organization of Organic Farmers, learning about agriculture in British Columbia and has traveled to India, Nepal, and Ghana with Projects Abroad. She is also building on her education by pursing a specialty certificate in Newborn Nursing Care and her Masters of Nursing.

Crystal will spend her reign promoting agriculture and attending local events within Grey and Bruce counties. Look out for her at a local event or at the 2015 IPM held in Cornwall!
